The idea of The Beach Towel Company originated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, while the actual creation took shape in New York, New York.

The concept started when I was constantly heading to the beach, pool, picnics with friends, and workouts. I needed a large beach towel that could handle all of these activities. While the towels available at retail stores were okay, they were often too small, didn’t absorb water well, or left fuzz all over me.

I did happen to have two beach towels that belonged to my mom in the '90's. They were perfect in size and function but there was one small problem, the patterns and designs were... fugly (for lack of a better word) and despite their practicality, I was always hesitant to use them.

That’s when I decided to create The Beach Towel Company. I’ve recreated the perfect texture of a vintage beach towel while modernizing it with new designs that are timeless, so you won’t look back in 20 years and be tired of the designs. My way of determining if something is timeless is by asking myself: 'Would this have been cute 20 years ago? Is it cute today? Will it still be cute in 20 years?' If the answer to all of these questions is YES, then it’s timeless in my eyes and that's what I wanted to create with these towels.
